Pride is when i settle for a lower opinion of myself than God’s opinion. Not only is it infinitely lower than God’s opinion of me, it is based solely on my own capabilities and i alone am responsible to maintain it. This low opinion enslaves me, and i must endlessly fight to defend it.

Humility is when i embrace the high opinion God has of me. His opinion is infinitely higher than any i could ever hold. It is based entirely on Who God is, what He has done and His vision for my life. He alone is responsible for maintaining this opinion which frees me to continually become who God says i am.
