After a beautiful day of driving with Jesus i arrived at the home of dear friends Randall & Kathy Forester in rural Chicora, PA. Randall was one of my first mentors in faith and ministry. Ironically, i served as the youth representative on the pastoral search committee that called Randall to pastor my childhood church. I then became a pastoral intern under Randall's supervision. Over ten years later, we reunited for fellowship and ministry in PA.
A few weeks ago i emailed Randall after i realized that Chicora is actually "on the way" to NY from SC. He's only been living there for 7 years!!! I asked if he'd like me to stop by and share some music at the church he pastor's there. It seemed like a good idea to all of us, so we put it on the schedule.
By the time i arrived in PA it wa clear that this was much more than a "good idea." The 90-year-old organist at St. Paul's community church passed away, and his temporary replacement fell and hurt herself badly. The church was entirely without a music leader. SomeOne had forseen these things and arranged for me to be there on that very Sunday to fill in and lead music.
We had a beautiful time of worship and i was honored to encourage the congregation with the Word. Our God is truly the Great Coordinator!
