The Holy Spirit might speak to you about something that seems completely irrelevant to your current situation. Go with it. You can bet that whatever He has to say to you will bring life. Truth is, He is far more aware of our situation than we are, and He knows exactly what we need. He is also preemptive. Knowing what is coming down the line of time for us, the Holy Spirit sends forth the word that we don’t even know that we need yet. Then, when the storm comes, it sure is nice to have that solid foundation already in place.

The Holy Spirit might give you revelation that you haven’t “earned”. He might speak to you about a scripture or a subject and you may doubt it or feel unworthy because you haven’t studied enough, prayed enough, lived enough to have authority in that matter. Just receive it. Truth is, all revelation is given freely to whomever God wills to reveal it. To think that we can willfully acquire truth by our efforts of religious rigor is quite ridiculous. God hides from the wise and intelligent while delighting in the hilarious fun of revealing truth to babes.

Whatever is given you, however it comes, receive it gratefully with humility. Share it freely as the Spirit gives you liberty so many may be fed by such blessed and broken bread.
